![]() Thanks to the Google, we now have access to thousands, even millions of DIY step-by-step guides. Many have saved thousands of dollars in home improvement because of DIY methods they have found online. However, there are things that should still be left in the hands of professionals and that includes natural stone installation for your home countertops. Natural stone includes granite, marble, quartz and more. A lot of property owners opt for natural stone material for countertops in the kitchen, bathroom, patio and other areas across a home. Since there are pre-cut materials available in stores, some would opt for a DIY installation of their granite countertops, quartz vanities or marble flooring. But this is not recommended by experts at all, and there are so many reasons why. Among these reasons why you shouldn’t go the DIY way when installing natural stone furniture are the following: Special Tools and Equipment Unless you want to turn natural stone furniture installation into your own business, then it won’t be a good idea for you to purchase special tools and equipment just to install some DIY furniture at home. The cost of these tools would probably already equate to how much you’d have to pay when you hire a contractor or even more. If you would be spending just as much, why not let experts do the job instead? Expert Knowledge is Necessary These DIY step-by-step guides you would find online make everything plain and simple. People could make it appear that things usually learned and mastered through years of experience seem simple and very easy. However, once you try it on your own, you will realize how difficult things could get. It might be too late for you to back out once you’ve already purchased all the materials you needed for your DIY project. There’s a high chance you’ll be wasting your money on a not so brilliant project once you failed following some important instructions or if that guide you saw missed out on some important steps and techniques. Remember, skills aren’t learned overnight, and definitely not after watching a 10-minute DIY video. Proper Installation Requires Teamwork Installation of natural stone furniture is not a one-man job. Ideally, you should have an equally knowledgeable partner to help you out; better if you have a team working with you. These stone materials are heavy and usually fragile especially if you haven’t installed them yet. If you insist on doing this on your own, you better call on family members and friends to help you out. If you’re planning a bathroom or kitchen remodel, or if you’re thinking of installing new natural stone countertops, bathroom vanities, and other kinds of furniture, call industry experts to help you out. Thanks for the advice to just hire someone who has the special tools needed to instal the countertops instead of buying them yourself. I'd love to have granite countertops in my house. I don't want to buy the tools needed so I'll have a professional do it for me.
