Granite Sealing

Granite Countertop
Natural stone materials like marble, granite, and tile are very long lasting, but are not invulnerable. Therefore, it is suggested to get the granite sealed before installation or during the installation to keep its beauty intact for long run. Sealing will help in keeping the granite away from staining and keep their look attractive for years.

Granite looks smooth and plain while touching it, but in reality it has many invisible microscopic holes and continuous fall of liquid can harm it over the time. Any liquid or food material poured on unsealed granite countertop can get stuck if not cleaned soon, and then can damage the countertop’s beauty.

It is very important to apply sealant on your granite countertop at the right time.  It is better to get the granite sealed before installing sink, appliances, and cabinets. Sealing granite after installation is a cumbersome task and will leave edges. It is also good to get your countertop sealed again when moving to a preoccupied house.

Granite sealing also have a longevity defined and it requires sealing to get redone over a period of time.  The best way to judge if your countertop would require a resealing or not, is to drip some water on surface.  If the surface will absorb the water then resealing is required. It is always preferred to get your countertop sealed by a professional who will now the job better and will do it without any flaw.

MARBLE COUNTERTOPS

Marble Countertop
Marble is a metamorphic rock which comprises crystalized limestone. They have a lavish surface which makes it sophisticated and warmth. It has different color variations available with a variety of shades like green, pink, cream, white and black.  Marbles are becoming a preferred choice for home owners for their kitchen and bathroom countertops.

A good marble countertop can be used as slabs or tiles. Slabs are mostly seamless and solid. Hence, if you want an arched or curved countertop then a seam is needed. You can choose tiles if marble slabs are expensive than granite countertops.

Marble countertops can stay long way if they are given proper care. You should wipe up any spills from marble countertops immediately and should use cutting boards to cut any food on your countertop. They are vulnerable to etching and you should not be using vinegar or any chemical to wipe the counter.  Though marble countertops are not most durable, but their smooth and cool surface makes them best for the countertops.

It is good to use a protective shield under items like glasses or cans.  You should use soft cloth to clean marble surface. The best cleaning agent for marble is a hot water mixed with a special formula cleaner. You can also use a mild soap with a sponge to clean. You should avoid keeping any toiletry products on marble countertop because they may etch the marble.  Always use decorative tray if you want these to keep them in display.

It is definitely a beautiful natural stone which can make your kitchen luxurious. Marble attracts to people who wants to be unique as it becomes graceful over time.  They can be used in your kitchen or in bathroom as a style statement.

At Stone World, we have experienced professional to do kitchen remodeling. So to beautify your kitchen call us today at 407-341-4688 for a free quote for your home or business and let help you to fall in love with your kitchen all over again.

KITCHEN REMODELING: EXPERT OR GENERAL CONTRACTOR?

1/11/2018

Kitchen Remodeling
A good kitchen "artist" is very hard to find, but he or she is the only person who can make your kitchen look like heaven.  Kitchen remodeling is also not an easy job and sometimes it takes months to complete remodeling for one kitchen. The best solution is to choose a professional kitchen specialist who has certifications, experience, and a long portfolio to showcase their capabilities.  There are a lot of differences between the service of a specialist and a general contractor. A general contractor can be much cheaper than the specialist, but the specialist can give you higher quality than anybody else. A hasty installation can damage the look of your kitchen which will eventually cost you more money to fix it later on.

You might be willing to spend extra money in kitchen remodeling if it gives you complete peace of mind, but a general contractor will not be offering you the same level of reliability which an expert professional can do. Like anyone you hire to work on your home, always check references to ensure you are hiring a company that is fully insured and bonded, with lots  of good references. You don't want to be the "guinea pig" for their new business!

A good professional can give you expert advice for your kitchen remodeling needs. He will advise you which material should be used for your kitchen.  Will a granite countertop be good or a marble countertop, and will it match your existing color scheme?  What color theme should be used and what are the recent trends in kitchen remodeling? An expert can also guide you the places from where you can get the material at reasonable cost and the best quality.

Stone World provides services like kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, fireplaces, and others. We offer our services in Clermont, Altamonte, Maitland, Lakeland, Deland, Ocoee and other surrounding Orlando areas. If you are looking into starting a home remodel, or are interested in countertops for your bathroom, call Stone World today at 407-341-4688.

USING MARBLE FOR KITCHEN COUNTERTOP

Marble Countertop
Marble countertops are a great way to decorate your kitchen in a practical, aesthetic way. They are elegant, timeless, and will always remain in style throughout your home life.  They resist heat and are perfect for cooking as the stone is very durable. Though there are several advantages of using marble countertops, it also has some drawbacks which includes, scratching, chipping, and staining.

Marble tends to get more wear and tear because it is a softer stone. Marble is a comparatively low priced stone, which looks really beautiful. Natural marble is famous for its color and luxury touch, comfort from cold stone, and durability. They are also available in a wide variety of finishes to improve the look of your kitchen from old-style to contemporary.

Polished marble results in a smooth, glossy, shiny surface, making the look of the polished marble quite stunning. Polishing improves the marble’s charm and makes it less absorbent, but it will cut and can be fixed with acid materials.

Marble can also be finished with a leather surfaced finish. They are generally used with darker colors, as the leather surface builds a raised surface on improved marble. The leather style marbles are not reflective and smears are not as visible. Sharpened marble has a dull, matte wrap up. Sharpened marble does not indicate scratches and wear as effectively as cleaned marble, however the sharpening procedure makes the marble more permeable and more vulnerable to retaining fluids.

Stone World provides products and services like marble countertops, granite islands, marble fireplaces, and more. We offer our services in Deltona, Deland, Titusville, Windermere, St. Cloud, and other surrounding Orlando areas. Call Stone World today at 407-341-4688 for a free quote.
